High above DIFC, this extraordinary apartment blurs the line between home and gallery. Filled with contemporary Iranian artworks and carefully curated design pieces, the residence reflects the vision of homeowner Parsa Ghavimi, who set out to create a space that feels deeply personal, artistic, and immersive. The project was featured in AD Middle East as “This Sky-High Dubai Apartment Is a Live-In Gallery Celebrating Modern Iranian Art.”

Designed by Ghavimi and executed by High Edit Developments, the apartment combines industrial architecture with warmth, character, and a strong sense of individuality. Throughout the space, art and design are thoughtfully layered to create an environment that feels both refined and lived-in.

A key element of this atmosphere is the Sento verticale by Occhio. Strategically positioned alongside the staircase, the luminaire highlights one of the home's most striking architectural features while creating a distinctive double-cone light effect. More than illuminating the space, it adds depth, drama, and a sense of movement.

To introduce a more expressive lighting mood, we proposed the use of coloured lenses. The client was immediately drawn to the sunset-inspired lens, which proved to be a natural fit for this art-filled residence. As daylight fades, the luminaire casts a cinematic red glow that completely transforms the mood of the interior, softening the apartment’s raw industrial character and creating an experience that evolves throughout the day.

“I wanted it to feel atmospheric and sculptural rather than decorative,” says Ghavimi. This philosophy guided the lighting selection, making Occhio an integral part of the home's identity. Here, light is not treated as a finishing touch, but as an architectural element that shapes how the space is experienced.

To highlight the apartment’s art collection, Lui pico by Occhio was integrated along the gallery wall. Its zoom optic allows the light cone to be adjusted between 20° and 60°, providing precise illumination for artworks of different sizes while reinforcing the home’s gallery-like atmosphere.

The result is a home where art, architecture, and lighting work together seamlessly—demonstrating how thoughtful lighting design can elevate a space and create an atmosphere that is both striking and unforgettable.
